The next 8-week CrossFit Kids cycle at CrossFit Durable is right around the corner—and this one is packed with movement, skill-building, and confidence-boosting fun.
Whether your child is returning to the gym or stepping in for the very first time, this program is designed to help them grow in all the right ways: physically, mentally, and socially.
Our goal with CrossFit Kids has never been to simply “tire kids out.” It’s to teach them how to move well, build confidence in their bodies, and develop habits that carry over into sports, school, and everyday life.
Understanding Their Bodies & Moving With Purpose
Kids grow fast—and their movement patterns grow right alongside them.
Over these 8 weeks, we focus on helping kids:
- Control their body weight with proper mechanics
- Learn foundational shapes for squats, hinges, pushing, pulling, and jumping
- Build awareness of how their body moves through space
- Improve balance, coordination, and agility through games and drills
When kids understand why their bodies move a certain way, they develop safer habits and greater confidence in everything they do—inside and outside the gym.
Introducing Weights the Right Way
CrossFit Kids isn’t about lifting heavy.
It’s about lifting well.
We introduce external resistance using kid-friendly tools that are both safe and fun:
- Kettlebells for swings, carries, and deadlifts
- Dumbbells for presses, rows, squats, and simple complexes
- Lightweight objects that teach control, stability, and strength
Every movement is scaled appropriately for age and ability, and every rep is coached with intention. Kids leave knowing how to move—not just how to pick things up.
Gymnastics & Ring Work: Strength Meets Creativity
One of the most exciting parts of CrossFit Kids is gymnastics.
Throughout this cycle, athletes will explore:
- Support holds
- Ring rows
- Ring swings
- Knees-to-chest progressions
- Grip strength and coordination drills
Gymnastics teaches kids how to control their bodies, solve movement challenges, and build strength in creative ways. The rings turn learning into an adventure—and kids love that.
Confidence Through Friendly Competition
Competition doesn’t have to be intense to be impactful.
During this 8-week cycle, kids will participate in:
- Partner challenges
- Mini workout races
- Skill-based games
- Team relays
These experiences help build:
- Confidence
- Leadership
- Communication
- Resilience
- A healthy “try again” mindset
Kids learn how to support teammates, celebrate wins, and handle challenges in a positive, encouraging environment.
Because Above All… It Should Be FUN
At the end of the day, kids should want to come back.
That’s why we blend learning and movement with:
- Games
- Obstacle courses
- Challenges
- Creativity
- Laughter, high-fives, and fist bumps
If kids are having fun, they’ll confirm one thing for us: movement is something they enjoy, not something they’re forced to do. That’s the foundation of lifelong fitness.
Excited to Welcome Returning Athletes & New Faces
One of the best parts of CrossFit Kids is watching returning athletes build on the skills they’ve already developed—and meeting new kids who bring fresh energy into the room.
We’re excited to:
- Help returning athletes grow stronger and more confident each cycle
- Welcome new kids into a positive, supportive, and encouraging community
This program is about progress, not perfection—and every kid belongs here.
